The vacation from a vacation
Ahhh. The feeling of home. There's nothing quite like it.
Manhattan is a really great place to visit. I totally recommend it to everyone. Although, dragging luggage through Times Square can get a little, well, difficult. And ice skating in Central Park is gorgeous! Something we Texans usually can't do...ice skate outside. It just doesn't happen. Unless you use that fake ice stuff that's really plastic, but that doesn't count.
L4T was amazing!! There were so many great people that I met and others I got to know better. And plus, a dance that plays the theme music from Duck Tales cannot be topped! The messages were really helpful and inspiring. Which reminds me, I need to go back through them and circle important points. That's something that Mr. Winnail told us to do at the Feast. I'm always amazed at how much more you can get out of it when you do that. There were a few minor injuries, but everyone survived. Which is good. Survival is fairly necessary.
Then I came home and had company over the night before heading to KC. They were great fun. Although it did set in a tiredness that never really left until recently. Not that having traveled for the past 2 weeks before didn't help. But it was all good. We had a VERY packed car on the ride up there. But it was fun. I mean who doesn't like to have random feet and elbows in their face? (Another reason it is always best to drive...)
The Damons were awsome hosting us all. I cannot rave enough about how hospitable they are. I would recommend everyone stay there, but that might get just a little overwhelming. Services were good and the dance ended up being good. There were so many great costumes. People are way to creative. It makes it hard each year to come up with new ideas. But that's great. It keeps us all on our toes. Hmm...time to start planning for next year.
This was also another great weekend of fellowship and learning about different people. Friends are great supports. And I'm trying to learn to be a better support system. I felt bad not hanging out with everyone as much, but I was so tired. I know, lame excuse, but still. Oh, and my sissy got to come with. She's great fun to have around.
Anyways, so now I'm home and trying to get everything lined up for this semester, which seems to be taking more effort than I think it should. The get every detail lined up because no one tells you what you should do but expects you to know gets a little overwhelming at times. So, then I just break and find something different to do.
I hope everyone had a wonderful time at L4T and KC.
