4 days
I have 4 days of postings of thankfulness to do.
I am thankful for my mother. She's always been there, is always there, a phone call away. I still have her mantras floating through my head. "You have to be nice no matter what". She's really a neat lady.
I'm thankful for my dad. I never knew how much he did for me until I moved out and really found out. Under one roof, you tend to take things for granted. He's always there for me too. He too is a great person.
I'm thankful for Rachael for starting this exercise. I'm really not as much of a thankful person as I ought to be. She challenges me to be a better person. I've appreciated her since we met, or well, the day after or two. The first day she scared me. But if she hadn't we probably wouldn't have been as close.
And finally for today, I'm thankful for the food we've been given. This country has a bounty of food that is uncomparable to other countries. We eat and eat some more and then wonder why we're all obese and why the rest of the world isn't. It's because we're blessed and we don't know how to use our blessings right. The rest of the world isn't blessed with desk jobs. Plus, food is really really yummy! (it's lunch time and I haven't eaten).
This weekend was wonderful. We had club, potluck, church and then a lazy day. I still need to clean up from this weekend and go work out. Bert beat me completely at Monopoly. Which is fine, I whipped up on him last time. Now, as long as we can keep this back and forth winning, that'll be good. It would be nice to also play with other people. The two of us building our independent empires does occasionally get difficult. It's harder to compete with just 2.
And hats off or rather swim caps off to Linda for her challenge.
